 | Executive Director Shalom House, a non-profit shelter for homeless women and their children in Harrisburg, PA, invites applicants for the position of Executive Director. The person in this position is the public face of the organization whose main duties are to manage staff so that organizational goals are met, to report to the board of trustees, and to raise money to keep the shelter in operation 24/7.
We are seeking an organized self-starter who possesses a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MSW a plus) and at least five years of experience in social work or human services, with emphasis in working with disadvantaged populations. The successful applicant will have a good record of raising funds, writing grants, and establishing and strengthening a network of constituents from individual donors to government representatives and service providers. He/she must also have experience in interacting with a volunteer board of trustees and a valid PA driver’s license. PA child abuse and police clearances are required.
